Tardy Policy Update

📣 Important Update: New Tardy Policy

To help improve punctuality and maximize instructional time, Groom ISD will be implementing a new tardy policy beginning 1/12/26.

We have seen an increase in student tardies, particularly during first period and after lunch, and this policy is designed to address those concerns.

Beginning tomorrow:

  • After 3 tardies, students will have closed campus lunch for one week

  • After 6 tardies, students will have closed campus lunch for two weeks

  • After 9 tardies, students will have closed campus lunch for the remainder of the semester
