🏀 Annual Groom Basketball Tournament — Volunteers Needed! 🏀 Our Annual Groom Basketball Tournament is set for December 29–31, and we would love your help to make this event a huge success! 🎄 GISD Holiday Meal – Wednesday, December 17th 🎄

Our holiday meal will be Wednesday, Dec. 17th from 11:24 AM–12:28 PM, and we are so excited to share this special time with our Groom ISD families!

To help improve the flow and make the experience even better, we’ve made a few changes this year:

🍽 Families will pick up their children from the classroom and eat together as a family.
This helps us keep lines moving smoothly and ensures everyone gets to enjoy their meal time together.

Groom ISD will have a delayed start time of 10:00 this morning due to icy road conditions. Busses will run 2 hours later than normal. Stay safe and warm!

As we move into the winter season, we want to ensure all Groom ISD families are informed about how we will communicate any changes to the school day due to inclement weather. Our administrators will be out early each morning to assess road conditions and make the best decision for our staff and students. Weather-related announcements will be shared through text messages to guardians and staff, our district website, social media platforms, and local media outlets. 📚🐾 GISD Elementary UIL Academic Update! 🐾📚 Last week, our elementary students traveled to Claude to compete in UIL Academics, and we couldn’t be more proud! We had a great group of participants representing GISD, and several of our students brought home medals and earned points for our school in their events. As we reach the halfway point of the 3rd six weeks, we want all GISD parents to know… Teachers are available for morning tutorials Monday–Friday | 7:30–7:55 AM We also offer tutoring during Tiger Time 2:34–2:54 PM Our goal is to support every student and provide the help they need to be successful in the classroom. Please know that we truly want every child at GISD to feel confident, supported, and successful. Together, we can do this!

At 2:45, teachers will walk with their students to the downtown location. We’ll stay together for the pep rally and dismiss immediately afterward.

Buses will still run on their regular schedule.

📚✨ The GISD Book Fair is officially in the books — and WOW, what a success! This year’s fair topped the charts, raising over $700 to purchase books for our students from Pre-K through 12th grade!! With every book sold this week our library will be getting to reap the benefits and get more books for our student's! A huge thank you to everyone who shopped, donated, volunteered, and supported the event. Your generosity helps put books in the hands of every student and keeps our love of reading growing strong. ♥️🖤🐾 GISD is only as great as the community that stands behind it — and ours is the BEST! ♥️🖤
